Witchy Workspace

Hey guys! So it's been a while since I've written on my blog. But I'm sticking to my guns! I've uploaded a video, and now I'm doing a blog entry in a weeks span. So proud of myself, haha!

Anyways, today I wanted to talk about "witchy workspaces". Now, I mean this in two different ways. One being your actual workspace, where you go to work to make that cash, if you have a desk/space whatever. The other being your actual "witchy" workspace. Where you go to mix herbs, incense, "potions", ect. So first, the actual workspace.

If you have a desk/space at work, do you put anything relating to your spirituality on it, as far as decorations go? Do you feel comfortable doing it? How about if you don't have decorations, why not? I have just this past year started to decorate my desk at work. I'm now comfortable enough to slightly (key word) relate the decorations to my craft/spirituality. It's nothing blatantly obvious, but if you were a witch, you would know. :) I don't have a big area to decorate, so less is more for me.

How about your actual witchy workspace? Do you work at/in front of your altar? Do you go into the kitchen to do your herbal/incense/potion work? Do you have a seperate altar (or place in your witchy room, if you're lucky enough to have one!) to do it? I personally just put a big cloth down on the floor in front of my altar and work there. I was thinking about making a seperate little station just for that purpose, but we'll see. I'm kind of all over the place when I "work", so the floor seems to be working for now.

I'd love love LOVE to hear any feedback! I'm going to make a short video about this when I get home from work tonight, just so people who don't have a blog and have a YouTube can participate. :) I'd absolutely love any feedback or video responses on YouTube if you can! I think it's a pretty interesting subject. ;) I can't exactly videotape my space at work, as I am in a doctor's office and patients and co-workers will probably think I am insane (not to mention HIPA laws), so I took some pictures on my break instead. Again, it's not much and not totally 100% "witchy", but having these small reminders at my job helps me get through the day :) So here they are, enjoy and Blessed Be!

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't updated since that last post. It has just been beautiful outside the past few days and I have done nothing but spent some time with Mother Nature. It has been wonderful. It's amazing how much sunshine has an impact on your day. :)

I actually recorded a video the other day to put up on YouTube, and I noticed my computer wasn't reading my memory card. I bought a new memory card about a month ago, because I didn't have my computer to upload all of my pictures and video on, so I just bought a new one. Apparently the one that I bought isn't compatible with my card reader, so I need to buy a new one of those as well. Dammit! So, I'm going to try and find one that is compatible and buy it tonight so I can upload my video.

So, all this time spent outside I've been doing alot of thinking and preparing. My "anniversary" into Paganism is on the Summer Solstice, and I want to make this Sabbat special. I think this year it's actually on the 24th, which is a Thursday. I skimmed through my Witches Almanac this morning and I'm pretty sure I saw the Solstice on the 24th. Which is lame. :( I wish it was on a weekend. Anyways, I've been doing alot of mental planning. I haven't written anything down yet as far as ritual goes, but I've just been reflecting and meditating on this past year and all of my experiences and how I've really grown as a witch. I've also found another element I really like to work with. My element has always been Earth, which makes alot of sense because I'm a Virgo. But I've been feeling really connected with Air lately, and I'm not sure why. I guess I feel like Air has been brushing away all of my negative thoughts from the past year and I'm letting alot of anger and frustration go alot easier than usual, and the element of Air has really been comforting lately. Has anyone else ever felt this way? You have YOUR element that rings true to you, but you find a special connection with another element for a while? If so, let me know your experiences! I'd LOVE to hear them!

Well, it's back to work I go. I will post a blog once I get my memory card reader today so you all know whatsup (whoever is reading, anyways.) :) see ya then!

Hey!

Hey all! Welcome to my blog, peeps! This blog will mostly be about my Craft and my spirituality. I have a YouTub channel, but sometimes it's hard for me to say what I want to say, especially when I'm being recorded and I can't really take a second to try and word what I'm thinking. So, I created a blog! I find that alot of the time, it's so much easier for me to type out my thoughts. I'll, of course, still update my YouTube channel, but this is just a place for me to come and sit and just write. So, hopefully you all enjoy your stay here!

So, I think I have a pretty good "first topic" for this blog. On Wednesday, I drove to a store about 15 minutes from here called Earthspeak. I've been in the store before. I couldn't even begin to tell you how amazing this store is. They sell crystals, tarot cards, pendulums, oils, insence, crystal jewelry, altar supplies, basically anything and everything Pagan. They also have a corner of the store dedicated to Native American shamanism. It's just incredible to walk in there. So, I bought another set of Tarot cards (the Goddess Oracle deck-the cards are insanely beautiful) and my first Pendulum. I've always wanted to wait for the perfect time to purchase a Pendulum- I really wanted one to call out to me rather than just picking one out myself because I liked it. The past few weeks I've been feeling drawn to purchasing a Pendulum. I've had dreams about them and I've just been feeling a strong urge to use one. The only kind I kept thinking of was a Citrine Pendulum. It was the only kind coming to mind that was calling me. And I found just that one at the store. I picked it up and asked it a few questions- if it liked my energy, was it right for me- and it really liked me! I felt an intense energy from it and it really wanted me to take it home. So, I did. The Pendulum is such a wonderful tool- I don't think I've gotten answers quite like this tools.
I wanted to ask you guys- What is your connection with the Pendulum? Do you use it frequently, or hardly at all? What are YOUR preferred types of divination? I'm still trying to figure this one out. Before the Pendulum, my favorite method of divination was scrying. But I have a feeling the Pendulum will be a close second. I've only had it since Wednesday, and have only used it once, but I'm getting super strong feelings about it. Any feedback from you witchies would be wonderful! Thanks for reading. :)

(pictures will be up very soon of the Pendulum!)
